Chanca Piedra is the Spanish name for Phyllanthus niruri, which translates to “Stone Breaker” or “Shatter Stone”. The herb was named for its effective use by the indigenous peoples of the Amazon in eliminating gallstones and kidney stones. It has long been used in folk medicine to treat kidney and urinary bladder disturbances, intestinal infections, diabetes, and hepatitis B.
Uses for Chanca piedra: elimination of gallstones, elimination of kidney stones, liver support, increases kidney urination, detoxifies liver, reduces inflammation, aids in digestion, kills bacteria, acts as a mild laxative, anti-viral, may lower blood sugar, may lower cholesterol, may lower blood pressure, anti-parasitic, expels worms, has a diuretic effect, may help with Hepatitis B virus ,inhibits cells from mutating, helps with bronchitis.
There has been no toxicity reported in any of the clinical studies, nor have there been any side-effects reported, except for an occasional case of cramps during the expulsion of stones. If cramping occurs, dosage can be cut in half.
Our Chanca is Organic wild crafted. Alcohol based. Drops can be dispensed directly to the back of the tongue, mixed into warm or cold water, or added to your favorite juice. When properly stored in a cool dark place, avoiding heat, sunlight and exposure to air, our tinctures will keep up to 5 years. Our tinctures are not recommended for pregnant or breast feeding woman.
